Article.

The letter proceeds:-

"it is clear that embarrassment to the Government "of Hong Kong was increased by the fact that irs. "Haslewood was the wife of a Naval Officer of the "Garrison and their Lordships consider the pressure "put upon you as a Naval Officer to restrain your ife from interfering in Colonial Politics was "justified by this fact."

The Admiralty have no objection to the above, or a summary of it, being given to Lessrs. Lulton ("Confidential not for publication") in substitution for to of the penultimate paragraph of the Colonial Office lemorandum.
